awesome desktop!
By eric
i had a 5yr old hp desktop that had lived out it's usefull life. i did some research and decided on this computer. i was impressed with it's specs/price. my main use for the computer is basic computing (net surfing, excel/word use, etc), as well as photo editing via lightroom 3.3. my old computer could not run lightroom, hence this purchase. i am completely satisfied with my computer. the 3.2gh quad core processor is very fast, as well as the 8gb ddr3 of ram. i was amazing how easily this desktop runs lightroom 3.3, which can be very processor and memory intensive. this thing runs lightroom with no delays or stuttering. the programs open lightening quick, and operate without issue. i'm not a tech guy so i cant really give you a super detailed analysis of the hardware, but i can say, as a basic user, this desktop is more than enough for me. is it perfect? nope! i wish it had some usb 3.0 ports. i also wish it had more usb 2.0 ports (it has 6). it came with windows 7 without the service pack 1, so i spent a few hours going through the windows updates getting it up to date with teh newest software versions. but those are small complaints, and i dont feel they warrant scoring the product down for it. for me this was the best bang for the buck, considering my $700 budget. all in all i'm very satisfied with my purchase, thanks again hp! oh this will be my 5th hp desktop? something like that, i've lost count. i've tried budget brands, but had too many hardware failures. i've had pretty much zero hardware issues with my hp computers, thankfully! lets hope i dont have to write an update to this review for one!

SUPER FAST COMPUTER
By eugene bailey
I bought this computer this past Febuary. Our last desktop computer got so slow and old it was just time to replace it. In between myself, my 12 year old son and wife. This thing is amazing how fast it loads everything. It comes with everything you need but a monitor. I went with the 22" viewsonic ordered also from amazon at the same time. If mine died tomorrow I would come right back on here and order another one.

Terrible, terrible support by HP
By andthea
The computer I got was defective - something I discovered after hours of troubleshooting on my own and countless hours with HP tech support. I've been passed around for nearly a week now without resolution. Everyone I talk to at HP agrees it is defective and tells me that they don't have the authority to replace a BRAND NEW computer.I had good luck with my last HP computer, but I'm concerned that their support has really gone downhill.
