Excellent for the price
By M. Gauthier
This is exactly what it says it is. It's not gaming rig, but it is a powerful machine that -- stock -- will allow you do just about anything you want. With an upgrade to the power supply and a video card, you'll be able to pretty much play anything you like for a while into the future.A previous reviewer (Gogetta), is complaining because it only has a 250W power supply and that he/she failed to notice that before his/her purchase. I'm not sure how that is HP's fault. Additionally, the wireless card works fine. Perhaps Gogetta didn't attach the antenna? This is the first PC I've ever purchased. Prior to this, I've built every computer I've ever owned (going back to 1990). At 36 with a family and a full time job, I just can't be bothered with building something now. My first purchased PC and wouldn't you know it, less than 24 hours after I turned the thing on, the power supply pops (I'm lucky like that... it happens to me all the time). HP was very responsive in both diagnosing (which was a bit painful for me as I know computers... scripted guy in India... I just bit my tongue) and sending a replacement out to me (overnight). It's been fine since. For the price, this is an excellent buy.One final note - Turning this into a dual boot rig (Windows 7 and Linux) was as simple as putting the latest Ubuntu disc into the drive (Xubuntu in my case, but same thing) and following the directions. ~500GB for Windows and ~500GB for Linux. Everything seems to work properly in Linux. No hiccups and no power problems that i can see. Regardless of which OS I'm in, this thing feels smoking fast. Ok... my perspective may be shot considering it's been six years since my last upgrade, but still... it FEELS smoking fast.

Powerful and inexpensive system - a few drawbacks
By JP
Overall I am very pleased with this computer system. It runs applications very fast. Nowadays more software is compiled for 64-bit systems and the performance of these apps take full advantage of the computers power. The specifications listed here regarding memory are wrong, the maximum amount of memory is not 8GB but 16GB!! Even HP's website contradicts itself with this regard sometimes quoting 8GB and others 16GB. I ordered 4 x 4GB of Crucial memory and all is recongized by the system. The Crucial memory is faster than the stock memory that came with the system. There are a few drawbacks (subtracting 1 star from my rating). Only 4 rear USB ports (plus 2 at the front) means you'll soon run out. I have ordered an expansion card to add 2 USB and 2 Firewire 800 ports. Yeah it doesn't come with any firewire ports at all, or e-sata.With these 2 upgrades I look forward to many years of performance computing :-)There is one really odd quirk; Gmail/Yahoo Mail and Firefox combined on this system does not show when an email is read, emails are always bold. I suspect the on board video is the culprit, the latest drivers from ATI's website don't help. Using IE or Chrome is an acceptable workaround to read gmail/yahoo emails. The Video performance is the reason this system only gets a windows experience of 3.4. Other components like HD and memory get 7.6 and 7.5 respectively. With better graphics the system would easily get a windows experience of 7 or more. I'm not a gamer, so super fast graphics is not an issue.I have run 5 virtual systems on this computer in addition to the host Windows 7 system at the same time and it has plenty of power to spare. One has to turn on hardware assisted virtual computing in the BIOS, for some reason HP advise against turning this feature on. AMD motherboards have supported virtualization for many years and I am very comfortable moving away from Intel.

One of the Best Hp Computer P6620f!
By T. Nelson
I went back and forth with hp and Emachines I know but I had a Emachines computer for years and it is still working good lol. I found the Hp p6620f and love it, it is very fast computer and I can do alot of things at one time emails, videos, web, etc. It's not a super big game computer tower and it's not a small slim line computer. Ok here is the bad things on the computer had to change the power supply because I wanted to put in a new video card for games, that's about it nothing else. A very nice true quad core, 6 gigs of ram, and a 1 T hard drive you can't beat that! Note: I beat this price Office depot or office max had this computer on sale at 529.99 and Frys computer store match it so its a plus all the way around. If you want this computer do a price match...TUpdate: 9/16/2011 I put in 8 gigs of ram man what a kick this computer has, and a new power supply (600-watts) and a video card that's all I'm doing it is a powerhouse now...T.
