Not sure if its windows 8 or the computer that is the problem
By Sandra Carroll
We bought this in November of last year (2012) and thought it was just a matter of getting used to it. Windows 8 is not easy. There is so much of the intuitiveness of previous versions of windows that is gone (it's a total overhall, so if you feel compfortable with windows, windows 8 will frustrate you)and so many things we are STILL trying to work out with windows 8 that I can't truly give a review of the computer itself. How do I separate what is the problem? But this is not a review of Windows 8.The computer is supposed to have great memory and a great processor (Best Buy Salesman told me this as did a few reviews online) so we bought it. Would you believe that webpages are still slow to load? In 2013 with a 1,000 dollar computer and great internet access in my home? My ipad loads faster as does my old Dell laptop. Maybe there is something wrong in settings but settings is so convoluted due to windows 8 that we can't figure it out.Getting from place to place within the computer (keeping open a word document while cutting pasting from the internet? should be easy, not so now.)My main issue with this is speed. Most of my other issues are windows 8 I believe, but because it came preloaded I feel I can lump them together. You cannot buy this computer with windows 7. Wish I could have. Maybe things would be different.I would hold off on this if thinking of purchasing. It need to have some kinks worked out first.(As an aside, I am fairly computer savvy for a non tech person. Its still non used friendly even if you have adequate knowledge.)

Cool Computer - Software may be causing glitches
By Jerry Howard
I love the look of the computer, as well as the touch screen. It is very pleasing to the eye as compared to old desktops. I loved my old Apple big-screen all-in-one, but this computer is much more aesthetically pleasing. The designers did a great job on this PC. That being said, I have had some issues. The computer has locked up several times, and occasionally it has taken some time to boot up. I am not sure if the problems have to do with the computer, or with Windows 8. Before buying a new computer, I read a lot of the reviews about Windows 8. Many things I read are happening on my computer which leads me to believe it is the software, not the hardware. The new windows browser has real issues. I had so many problems visiting my favorite websites that I ended up downloading Firefox as a temporary fix. While the computer itself is sleek and sophisticated, if I had it to do over again I would wait until Microsoft comes out with a fix for Windows 8 before buying it. But once there is a fix for Windows 8, I think I am going to love this computer.
