Quiet, fast, stunning graphics performance- will work with 32gb ram
By fordfiveohh
This is a super quiet machine. It works well. Since this has an APU , that means the graphics processor is fused into the CPU- this is NOT the same as the crappy onboard graphics you're used to. This is a QUALITY setup for graphics. Games run great, 1080P full HD video full screen is fantastic..... AND... if you buy an AMD RADEON graphics card and drop it in, it will work together with the APU in "crossfire" mode. If you want dual graphics (double your video power for video editing, gaming, etc) this machine is FANTASTIC for you!. I run a 32 inch 1080P monitor with this - works beautifully :-). Well designed- the APU is very "relevant"performance. Do some research and I'll think you'll lean towards buying an AMD A-series processor computer over a I5 or I7. I'm a power user. I can rip 4 dvd's to Mpeg2 in less than an hour with this thing (I used 4 drives for input). I can also run 3-4 virtual machines at once with no problems. I'll be able to run a lot more than that when I upgrade the ram. Great for gaming and HD video - also great for standard use. You'll see that web pages load/render quickly with this machine because Internet explorer 9 (and other modern browsers) will leverage this hardware for GPU hardware acceleration to draw the pages super fast.

Why did I wait so long?
By Marianne
I've been working with computers for 30 years now, mostly as a programmer, now doing Web design, but not making a living from it anymore. My last computer purchase was in 2003 -- a Dell running Windows 2000. In 2007 I got a hand-me-down that was running XP. As most people do, I dreaded the transition, the expense and learning curve for new software in particular. While it hasn't been seamless, it hasn't been unpleasant at all, and the speed and performance of this computer (and the new software) has been well worth any minor frustration. Windows 7 is fabulous! It takes me so much less time to do the normal tasks that fill up so much of my day. This was a great deal and I'm very pleased overall, just sorry it took me so long to make the purchase.

Modified This Computer
By Jase
I bought this PC from Staples for $449. They delivered next day (dropped off on porch with no signature required?).Added a 80gb solid state hard drive to run Windows 7. Used the included 1 terrabyte as storage. Put in a Nvidia GTX 550 ti graphics card. The wifi module is medium signal strength. Can put this thing anywhere around house. The operating system that comes with this computer is full of bloatware. Suggest you just install your own copy on Windows 7. Probally will add a blueray drive later and some more RAM. Right now my "Windows Experience Index" is 7.2 (scale of 1.0 to 7.9). Overall, I think this great computer for under $500 with a 3.20 GHz processor. Had to replace the power supply thou. It is only 300 watts. Put in a Thermaltake 430 watt power supply. The Nvidia GTX 550 ti card I put in requires a minimum of 400 watts.
