We are trying to setup an HTPC with a prebuilt and have failed with HP Slimline, Dell 660s, and now this Lenovo.When we unpacked the item, we could hear something rolling around inside the computer case. I opened the case and there was a screw rolling around. I am not sure how this was missed as it was very loud and even slight movements caused it to roll.We went ahead and removed the screw, installed our tuner card, powered it up, installed Windows 8 Pro Add-on and all updates, and went to media center. Watching a video, around 10 minutes in, the machine rebooted suddenly without warning.I am not sure if the following problems were also due to assembly issues, but the CPU fan was incredibly load for a Core i3. I have an older i7 with a much greater TDP that is quieter. The wireless would drop out completely from time to time with no networks shown until reboot. When watching one of the channels, the screen would flash.Although high definition channels are OK with windows media center with Intel HD 2500, the standard definition scaling to 1080 is bad - although not as bad as Intel HD on the pentium which is terrible. We have found on the other desktops that a basic nvidia gpu can resolve this, but be informed that this unit only has 170W power supply. So, although the specs list two discrete graphics cards that can be added to the unit, this would also require changing out the power supply.The unit is very nice looking and the construction was more sturdy than the HP Slimline and Dell computers. The case doesn't use the cheap snap-out metal pieces for the PCI add on cards. Perhaps we might have liked a properly assembled lenovo desktop, but since we can't be sure, we went ahead and ordered the parts to assemble our own HTPC.
