FIRST OF ALL: In response to the other reviewer. Don't believe the person whose telling you to buy a Gateway over a Dell. Gateway hasn't been good for 10+ years.I bought this computer almost two years ago and haven't encountered a single problem. The performance is great, its quiet, dell has been wonderful, and it runs my entire game library without the slightest hesitation. I get wonderful performance on Skyrim, Portal 2, Borderlands, Battle field 3, and anything else on Steam. As well as when i'm running emulators for ps2, wii, gamecube, and etc. In fact, I was able to host a Minecraft server, have adobe photoshop cs5 open, and play Skyrim with no problems for hours.Dell has never been anything but extremely helpful. I was messing around and installing linux on my computer for a while about a year back and needed to reinstal windows. So I called up Dell and instead of having to send it in to get windows installed, they just sent me a Windows 7 Home Premium Re-installation Disc, and their Dell inspiron 580 drivers disc. Unlike Asus who doesn't trust their customers enough to send them a disc.I haven't had a single hardware issue EVER, and with my experiences with Dell, I don't think I ever will. I have a Dell inspiron from about 6 years ago sitting in my living room running windows XP and serving as a retro game box for my TV. In the six years i've owned it I haven't had a single problem.All I can say is that I have NO CLUE what the other guy that left a review is talking about. In all my experience with this computer, and Dell in general, I haven't had any problems and I absolutely love it.

We bought this computer in May 2010. In December, the hard drive failed, they sent us a new hard drive under the warranty. The 2nd hard drive failed after less than 24 hours. After contacting customer service, we were told we needed a new motherboard and hard drive. Two days later a technician came and installed only a new hard drive (the computers 3rd). I called customer service to address the issue of not getting a new motherboard. Clearly, the hard drive wasn't the problem since the 1st replacement failed so quickly - something in the computer was the problem. I was told that the technician installed the 2nd replacement and computer was operational. I explained that the 1st replacement had also been operational for less than 24 hours, then failed. This is our business computer and we had been without a computer for over 2 weeks throughout this problem - losing money each day.We were told that if the 2nd replacement failed again they would replace the motherboard. This is unacceptable, since it would take a full day of work to reinstall our business software - and just to have if fail again? No way. We asked repeatedly for the motherboard - which we know the technicians have - just send him back so that we can get back to work tomorrow. No. After a most discouraging and patronizing conversation ("any new machine of any kind could have problems"). We asked to be escalated beyond the manager we were speaking to and were told, "This is the end of the line in our book. We believe that your problem is resolved, we will not forward your issue onto any other customer service person".)Now that I have had this problem and talked about it on Facebook - many other people have reported failed hard drives on their Dell computers.Get a Gateway -- or if you can afford it a Mac. We use Apple computers at home and have had ZERO problems in over 8 years.
