5Install a video card and BAM!!! You've got a nice little setup.
By amazonman
I reluctantly purchased this computer because I like to build my own, but I couldn't pass it up for the price. Now that I have it I am very happy with it. First, I have to be up front. This is not a $5000.00 gaming computer, but with the addition of the right graphics card and a little extra ram this is a nice system.Let's face it, the onboard graphics are crap. Someone doing word processing or doing SIMPLE web browsing will not notice, but when you start playing HD Videos in several windows or playing your favorite game you'll have problems. The big issue with this desktop is the power supply and internal space when it comes to adding a graphics card so you have to choose wisely. I chose the EVGA GeForce GT 440 because it will run on the 300w power supply in this system and because it is a fairly small card so it fits inside without crowding other components. In addition to the graphics card, I added 2GB of RAM memory from Kingston. It came with three 2GB Kingston RAM sticks for a total of 6GB of total RAM, but it has the space for one more stick so I added it. The extra RAM cost a grand total $17.47 so I now have 8GB total. Not bad at all.I prefer Ubuntu, but for you Windows folks out there you should know that with the added graphics card and RAM the Windows Experience Index on this machine now stands at 7.4 which I have to say kinda surprised me.All in all, I think anyone on a budget or someone who wants a basic computer this one is an excellent choice.

1STOPPED WORKING AFTER 3 MONTHS! STOPPED AGAIN 3 MONTHS LATER! THIS THING SUCKS!
By Mr. Steve W. Robertson
UPDATE! 05/01/2012 This computer bricked again! Exact same problem as before (keep reading). It is completely dead, still under warranty (barely) and I'm required to AGAIN spend over $80.00 of my own money to send this POS to Gateway repair. Sadly, just before I bought this computer I purchased a Gateway netbook AND IT ALSO QUIT WORKING since I wrote this review. I'm not going to even bother to send it in for repair. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times= EVERY GATEWAY PRODUCT I HAVE PURCHASED HAS FAILED! And the one they repaired FAILED AGAIN!!(return to previous review...)Soon after I purchased this computer, I gave it a good review. THEN IT COMPLETELY DIED. It won't even turn on. I have worked tech support, and I have built my own computers from scratch. I know how to fix almost anything. But this computer is DEAD.After wasting a bunch of time with Gateway tech support, I had to send it in for repair AT MY EXPENSE. The window to return it back to Amazon just expired. And they told me there is no guarantee I will get my hard drive back, so all my data, pictures, and personal data is at the very minimum being handed over to a stranger and at the very worst, I'll never get it back.Don't buy this computer, or any Gateway computer for that matter. Buy a computer from a manufacturer that doesn't make you pay almost $100 to ship their dead computer back to them. This computer barely lasted 3 months before dying. Don't make the same mistake that I did. Buy something else.Update: When you send a poorly designed computer back to Gateway for a warranty fix they have this really "neat" web site you can go to that lets you track the progress of them fixing your computer. They marked it "in receiving" the same day my delivery confirmation showed that they received it. Awesome! (I thought) the wheels are in motion! They actually care about me... NOT! Three business days plus two weekend days later (five days), it was still "in receiving". They must have thousands of computers being sent back to them every day for it to take 5 days to check a computer in. Finally, it moved to "in repair". It's been another week. I contacted them to get a better update and all that they could tell me that it was still being repaired... Like there has been a team of technicians performing computer surgery on this thing for 40 hours and they still think that they can detect a pulse or something, so they've been performing silicon CPR for 40 hours. What a joke. Its probably stacked up in the repair center somewhere, probably still in the box I sent it to them in.I did get the computer back via overnight shipping with the repair being "replaced mainboard". Fortunately, the computer arrived with my original hard drive intact. So, in a nutshell: this computer DIED within 90 days of receiving it. I had to spend over $80 in shipping costs for them to repair it. They replaced the mainboard to fix it, which is the "guts" or "brain" or "main" part of the computer. I got it back and began using it. AND IT DIED AGAIN WITHIN 90 MORE DAYS!!! So I've spent about 50% of the computer's original price just in shipping costs to get this POS repaired. And now while I await its return I have no computer at all, which is unacceptable. So I had to go buy a laptop so I would have internet etc. I've spent more than the cost of this purchase just trying to fix it or temporarily replace it. This is the worst investment I have ever made. Considering my time, I would have been better off to withdrawal $500 from my checking account and flush it down the toilet. I will never, ever, EVER buy another Gateway (or Acer, their parent company) product again. I would rather throw myself down a flight of stairs and suffer the injuries than go through this EVER AGAIN. I'm not even sure what I'm going to do with this computer if they send it back to me. I certainly can't trust it to anything but DIE. I just want to get my data off it. THIS COMPUTER SUCKS!

5Very pleased with the DX4350-UR21P
By anderbody
I have been running this Gateway for about two weeks. The set up could not be easier and the software install was extremely quick. I opted to use a LX310 Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. The supplied keyboard and mouse are OK. I was pleased to find a PCI slot that would acept my Asus high end Sound Card. I used isolation through a UPS for power and telephone cable. This was a good choice as we had a few storms pass through and power outages. I do not run games on this computer. Every thing performs well and even with a program with high graphics. My monitor HP 25 inch and which the onboard Graphics card handles ok. The only addition I will make is a high performance Graphics Card. The supplied on board HD4250 is nice however it does take up some of the board memory. I would recommend this computer to anyone looking for AMD 6 core proessor performance. The DX4350 handles everything with ease.
