Lenovo Q190 populated with liars and nitwits
By Rainwolf127
I purchased the Q190 primarily as a music (media Player) for home surround sound. Lenovo claims to support via HDMI for 7.1 Channel Surround, lossless audio, Bit streaming, Dolby HD, Dolby DTS, Intel HD 3000 Graphics but there is a problem. None of it works. I tested the machine at the Intel site and Intel says the HD graphics are the 2000 series (half the processing capabilities) and NO higher level audio processing seems to be taking place! The HDMI needed to support the sound capabilities listed above (as the optical can't do them without the HDMI) simply does not pass the higher level audio through to the receiver or can't decode or even support them. IF the machine could do what Lenovo advertised maybe they should take a few moments to train the support staff or possibly make sure they ship what they advertise and that it works!!!!!After 5 days of calls and hours on the phone with Lenovo support they told me they couldn't figure it out and I could return the model to Amazon (great-wait 30 days for my money before I can replace the machine) or I could be transferred to software support where I would have to pay to fix a problem that was shipped to me (if they could figure it out).Lenovo - "advertise what your product does, and when it doesn't you can pay again to fix their lemon computer". This might be a great business model IF IT WASN'T ILLEGAL.Lenovo should be ashamed - conducting business in such a shoddy manner. If you are considering buying the computer take the advise given to Forest Gump - RUN FOREST, RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
