1BEWARE.. DON'T BUY
By MSF4CUBS
Computer was less than 30 days old, and it died. Called Dell, who has horrible technical support. I couldn't hear them, and they couldn't understand me because English is not their first language. But they send a new motherboard and a tech to the house. The guy puts in the motherboard and when he reboot he got an error. He said I would have to call Dell again, and get a hard drive. So 2 hours on the phone later they said they would send out a hard drive. The same tech comes back out and puts hard drive in, and leaves when it starts the installation process. That night, after the installation has completed, and setting my email back up, I'm loading some pictures on it.. and it DIES again!! Same thing.. totally dead. Don't buy this unless you love headaches, and trying to speak to someone that puts you on hold for ever!!

1What a ripoff. And don't expect any customer service
By Bart W. Tangredi
My wife and I purchased a Dell Inspiron 620MT. After adding a number of bells and whistles including the following: (1) 7432 - Pick Two Onsite Service Option; (1) 8501 - PC setup option; (1) 8503 - Data transfer (10GB) option - the total cost came to $1,755.95 (a pretty fair amount of money). The technician came to install it on Friday the 10th. On Saturday the 11th, the computer wasn't working (we didn't even have it for 24 hours). My wife called Dell, the technician remoted into the computer and informed her that the hard drive was, in fact, not functioning and would have to be replaced. This of course meant that everything that had been installed, including the data transfer from her laptop (which we paid for) would have to be redone. When they called us to set up an appointment to replace the hard drive we were told that the only service that would be performed was the replacing of the hard drive. All the other installation services we paid for (the setup, the data transfer) would not be repeated since they had already completed that. They offered to walk my wife through it on the phone but that is not what we paid for. Basically when you pay for a product and a service it is not unreasonable (in fact it is expected) that you will have a fully functioning working computer. And if, in fact, your computer doesn't work (we didn't even have it 24 hours), you would expect the company you buy it from to uphold their responsibility and take care of the problem. Unfortunately, Dell does not back up their product. At all. Dell completely abdicates their responsiblity and leaves you on your own. When my wife requested a refund for the services we paid for since we were going to end up doing it ourselvs, they said no, they couldn't do that. They refused to budge from that position. So we're sending this hunk of garbage back to them and never dealing with their products and their beyond abysmal customer service again. What a waste of time. Don't get sucked into purchasing anything from this company if you have any expectations of follow-up customer service. They are the worst.

1do not buy from dell
By michelle
I have a 620mt which is a replacement machine sent to me after ongoing problems with 570 machine. The 570 machine was faulty from purchase! after numerpus phone calls and visits and threats of my statutory rights the machine was replaced 6 weeks ago with a 620mt.Shock horror after 6 weeeks the machine would not turn on! Dell wanted to run through the same tests as they had done about 50x poreviously in the last 12 months with my old machine!! I insisted I was refunded under The sale of goods Act (uk law) and was offered a xps 8300 at a cost double to what I had spent out. I was very reluctant to settle for this....fingers crossed lets just hope this machine works and the motherboard does not fail as it seems to do on all their makes and models of machines!!
