I ordered this system, with an additional 24" diagonal wide screen LED monitor and set it up in one of the two offices I work at every day. I work both on computers as an independent IT contractor and with computers as an office and accounts manager at a mid-size services company. While Dell is by far not my favorite brand of computer, this model has performed well for me over the last few months.Right out of the box, after first setting it up, I installed 2 more gigs of RAM, maxing it out at 8GB. So this upgrade could account for my better results while using it than other have mentioned. I chose this system with the quad core i5 processor because Dell puts under-powered power supplies in their systems running the i7 processors, and I was already upgrading the RAM. I didn't want to replace the power supply as well. The i5 is new and fast, and works fine with the power supply pre-installed in this system.The graphics card, a AMD Radeon HD 6450, is dedicated, not integrated. This means that your graphics card has its own RAM (1GB) and is not integrated into your motherboard, sharing the systems pre-installed 6GB of RAM. So your system gets access to all 6GM of its RAM, and doesn't have to share it with the video card. The Radeon 6450 is an entry-level graphics card with a few perks, and is a step up from its predecessor. It supports DirectX 11 and has the ability to run several displays at the same time (Eyefinity/3 screen). For most online games, Sims games, some MMORPG's and such this card is fine. Very high graphics games (for gamers) you will either need a better card or to turn down the games graphics settings.There's one optical drive on the front (CD/DVD), and an open bay for an upgrade in case you want to install a second one. In the 3rd bay, you'll fine 2 USB ports, a card reader and a headphone and mic jack. The back of the computer has additional USB ports, an HDMI port, an Ethernet jack, VGA jacks and a 5.1 surround sound output jack for speakers. Internally there is a wireless card, like you would find in most laptops. So this means you can connect this PC to the internet without needing to be plugged into the modem or router, assuming you have wireless access in your home. This is actually how I have this system set up, so I can vouch for the wireless card working well.When it comes to Dell support, I can't really comment. Before I worked on computers, on the rare occasion I actually tried to get help from someone at Dell, there was always an unfortunate language barrier. They outsource their tech support and after 10 years living in the northern mid-west, I've found I now have a hard time understanding through a heavy accent. Thankfully now I can take a PC apart and put one back together myself, so I have little need for Dells tech people to tell me when something is broken. But for those who can't fix their own computers, this can be a problem, and a consideration when choosing which company to buy your computer from.So in conclusion, I've put the Dell Inspiron i620 through a host of tests in the last 3 or 4 months I've been using it. It's used every day, and while I'm the main user, there are one or two others who use the PC too. So it sees quite a bit of daily use. It's run perfectly without any lock-ups, BSOD's, crashes, etc. It runs extremely quietly and with a RAM upgrade, should perform well for some years to come. This is a good home or small office computer, and you'll find it can handle all the everyday needs of the average user. If you're a hard-core gamer, you'll probably want to upgrade the graphics card and power supply ('cause you'll need more power if you put in a high end graphics card). But for everyone else, an upgrade to 8GB of RAM will make this machine everything you want it to be.***Upgrading your RAM***I installed these Kingston Technology HyperX 8 GB (2x4 GB Modules) 1600 MHz DDR3 Dual Channel Kit (PC3 12800) 240-Pin SDRAM KHX1600C9D3K2/8GX, if you're looking for something that you know will work with this computer. It's extremely easy to install. You just open up the computer (MAKE SURE IT'S UNPLUGGED FROM THE WALL) and find the 2 stick of RAM that are already in there. There will be two latches holding each stick in (no tools needed even!). Just flip back each latch and pull the sticks out. Look for the little notches carved out on the old stick, and match them up with the ones on the new stick, so you know you are putting the new ones in aligned properly (they will only go in one way). Press them in (give a hard push) and then latch the two latches on each one. Then restart the computer. You can do this in 5 minutes and and you've just saved yourself the $$$ places like Best Buy would have charged you to do it for you.

Okay system for the price, for the most part, BUT I do have some complaints with it after owning for a couple months now...First, the hard drive makes a high-pitch cricket chirping sound when it's accessing, which makes me nervous.Secondly, the amount of pre-installed crud-ware programs really made me grumble nasty words and have bad thoughts about buying Dell again. The initial task of setting backup point and creating restore discs was done (as directed) by the program included "SYNCH" which then turned into an ad from dell telling me I could BUY the full version to get better features. Meanwhile, in less than a month, I am getting errors that there is not enough hard drive room (on the included b/u drive) to create a new b/u and it crashes. Also found I was getting random Blue Screens of Death related to driver issues and seemingly from running the dell stage and related apps.Wish I had ordered the machine with a bigger hard drive and more memory.
