This was supposed to be my birthday present from my husband. The only reason I know about it is because I'm the one that has to deal with things when they go...wrong.1.) Initial Shipping: Took 2 1/2 days extra to arrive. Why? Originally we thought it was a mess-up on the part of UPS, as their online tracking system is terrible compared with Amazon's...nope. Someone in Amazon's warehouse facility had left the multiple shipping labels from previous inter-facility deliveries on the box. It was going on a tour of the U.S.A., and there was nothing UPS could do about it except reroute it with a priority notice.2.) Out of the box, the computer rattled. In a loud kind of way. Figuring it was simply a cable, I followed the instructions provided in the box. Cut & dry. I plugged the system into my monitor and peripherals and powered it up. Nothing. So...I followed the OTHER instructions in the box...easily opened up the side of the case and voila! The problem: the installer had not actually followed the instructions on the installation, evidently. The hard drive was loose in the case, the supports (snap-in plastic style made to be easier for amateur installers) were not properly in place (one was supported half-way by a zip-tie), and the connector cable for the drive itself had been forced onto the drive improperly, splitting the plastic and breaking chunks off of both it and the unit. Didn't have the time, or the computer, to run a diagnostic, but even using a secondary cable and port did not produce any results, so at that point I wondered if the system had even been preloaded with the interface/operating software in the first place. That is irrelevant, however, as sometimes heavy jostling of the hard drive can cause data retrieval problems, etc.3.) Customer service was no issue. I simply clicked a few buttons and they sent the UPS guy out with prepaid labels and away it went. However, almost a week ago I was given the arrival date of the new system. That date is today, by 8PM. They're going to have to pull some impressive magic tricks, however, as it has yet to leave the warehouse...4.) Overall, between my experience with this computer, and my previous experience with another computer purchase a year ago (started out with dual graphics cards, only one of which now works due to a faulty bridge, and has already had one complete hard drive failure), I have to admit that though the 12 month same-as-cash financing is sweet and all...the product leaves a LOT to be desired. I retain hope...but it's fleeting. Fleeting.
