I really enjoy the Dell XPS 8300. It's as quiet as dead goldfish! It's very fast and can run many programs, like 3/4 video games at once. The graphics are well enough to have no problems playing a video or a favorite video game. Greatest of all it's not as expensive as most other computers out on the market, but can still do so much.

Bought one in November 2011 (but not through Amazon). Was a reliable computer for about a year, then I started getting an error message (albeit w/limited info). Checked web for explanation and a few sites said this was not an uncommon problem for a Dell. Followed advice (roughly same on multiple sites) to address problem and error messages stopped. In mid-January 2013 (14 months after purchase), the computer would not start. Turns out the motherboard failed. Fortunately, the XPS has a warranty longer than a year -- but at first Dell didn't believe I was the owner. Fortunately, I had kept the packing slip and had sufficient reference numbers. I can remember when Dell was considered pretty good and I've owned a few but they seem to have quality problems now that I don't recall the company having a few years ago. Will no longer have Dell at top of my list when it's time to replace. Wish it weren't that way but like in school, you get the grade you earn.
